Rabia Farooqui (b. 1992) is a visual artist based in Karachi, Pakistan. She received her BFA from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi in 2015. Working mainly with the technique of gouache on wasli, Rabia Farooqui explores the links and the tension that exists between traditional and modern practices influenced largely by guidelines already set in stone. In March 2017 she was selected to represent Pakistan in an artist residency by the name of Green Olive Arts, Morocco where she took part in an open studio event along with seven other international artists. Similarly, in April 2018, she participated in another artist residency at Zaratan-Arte Contemporanea in Lisbon, Portugal where she exhibited her work by the end of the residency program.
