The painting describes a scene from a meeting held in Aburi, Ghana between the Nigerian military government and the leader of the Biafra state in a bid to avoid the looming Civil war. Sadly the agreement was never respected and the war went on for 3 years. The man in the middle (representing the Nigerian military leader) has a missing feet in one of his shoes, this follows the saying to loose one’s feet. "Lose my feet" idiomatically means to become confused, disoriented, or lose one's footing in a situation, often implying a loss of control or stability.
