This is the little leather stool I usually sit on when I make my paintings. It has four metal bent legs, a picture of Marilyn Monroe sewn onto it, and it’s half-covered in paint. When I originally got it, I didn’t know I would end up being an artist. The thought was probably there, though, as I remember thinking about it as a kid. But I thought being an artist entailed having some sort of superpower and incredible talent. Talent I thought I didn’t have. I guess part of that superpower might be not giving a crap about what others might think you’re doing.
When I was sitting on that Rudolf Steiner school seat, I had no idea this would be where I’d end up - I’m sitting on Marilyn‘s face daily doing the thing I love.Exhibitions
