Audun Alvestad

Audun Alvestad (b.1980, Aalesund) is a Norwegian painter who received his MFA form the Kunsthogskolen in Bergen in 2016, after studying at the Det kongelige Danske Kunstakademi, Copenhagen (2015) and receiving his BFA from the Kunsthogskolen I Bergen, Avd Kunstakademiet in 2009. Alvestad's paintings typically centre around "average Joe" types engaged in everyday tasks such as mowing the lawn, ironing shirts, or bathing. He has referenced his interest in exploring society's changing gender roles and social structures as the reason for focusing on this subject. Additionally, he relies on generic types because they provide more space to play with the formal aspects of the painting.

- Highlights and collections.
  In 2017 Audun Alvestad received a 3-year working grant for young artist from the Arts Council Norway, Prosjektstøtte, Norwegian association of Artists. In addition, in 2016 Audun Alvestad was granted Statens utstillingsstipend, from the Arts Council Norway, Prosjektstøtte. Alvestad's work can be found in many public and priavte collections amongst them the Bunker Artspace Museum (USA); the Preuss Collection, the Azman Museum and the Drake Collection.

Sara Berman

Sara Berman (b. 1975, UK) received a BA in Fashion Design from Central Saint Martins in 1999 after which she founded and ran her eponymous fashion brand for 15 years. In 2016 Sara Berman graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art with a MFA in Painting. Berman’s background in fashion influenced her visual arts practice through the use of various textures, layers, mathematical geometry, pattern and materiality. In her work Berman examines how people see and define themselves through the relationships with their clothes, belongings and the spaces they occupy. The character in Sara Berman’s work is inspired by the trope of the female Harlequin in her ascribed role of the Trickster Whore. Through this character Berman explores space and the role of the feminine within it.

  Sara Berman was featured in the 2015 BP Portrait Award that showcased fifty-five of the most outstanding and innovative portraits around the world. Berman’s work can be found in the collection of The House of KOKO, London; The Poort Visser collection, Netherlands; The Maison Estelle, London, UK; The RO2 Art Collection and the Montparnasse collection, Canada. Sara continues to be involved in the Hospital Room projects here in London and was part of the exhibition at Hauser & Wirth, London with Hospital Rooms.

Ralf Kokke

Ralf Kokke’s (b. 1989) paintings are a celebration of the archaic and the universal, embodying the timeless themes of paradise, nature, and the harmonious coexistence of humans, animals, and the divine. Born into a family of dockworkers in the suburbs of Rotterdam, Kokke draws upon his childhood memories and dreams to craft his visions of a world that is both idyllic and fantastical, where the boundaries between reality and imagination are blurred. Through his use of universal symbols and themes, Kokke invites the viewer to rediscover the world through the eyes of a child and to be transported to a place where dreams and reality coexist in perfect harmony. In a world where the chaos and turmoil of everyday life can obscure our sense of wonder and magic, Ralf Kokke’s paintings are a reminder of the beauty and potential that lies within us all. Through his art, he invites us to embrace our inner child and to be reborn into a world of imagination and possibility.

- Highlights and Collections
  In 2022 Ralf Kokke was a finalist for The Royal Award for Modern Painting – the most prestigious painting prize in the Netherlands. In addition, in 2020 Kokke was awarded a Grant from the Dordrechts Museum, Dordrecht, Netherlands. Kokke has also received a number of residences including a Residency at Van Gogh Huis, Zundert, Netherlands in 2020. His works can be found in important private and public collections which include Dordrecht Museum collection and Van Gogh Huis collection.
Rita Maikova

Rita Maikova (b. 1990 in Ukraine) is a Ukrainiain artist who lives and works in Kyiv. She studied Fine Arts at the Kherson art school, graduating in 2003. Maikova explores the idea of love, focusing mainly on stopping the endless inner discourse going on in any person’s head. By investigating the here and now, Maikova’s works are full of symbols and signs, progressing between the conscious and subconscious mind, which she represented on her canvases -- The idea that the variety and interweaving of forms excite the imagination.
