Julie Stavad, born in 1987, graduated from The Jutland Art Academy in 2015 with a sculptural practice working with objects and their narrative and associative potentials. Since 2013 Stavad has been a part of a large number of exhibitions and created sculptural works in public. Stavad’s first outdoor piece was More Sole and is permanently installed in Skulpturlandsby Selde (DK). The work of Stavad can also be found at Skovsnogen Deep Forrest Artland (DK). In 2018 Stavad had her first museum solo show, Stille stylle, at Holstebro Kunsmuseum in Holstebro, Denmark. Other solo shows include The Mobile Sleeve at Charlotte Fogh Gallery, Aarhus, Denmark (2017), Shooting Spikes To Repel Foes, Tiny Affairs, Amager Strand (tinyaffairs.dk), Denmark (2016) and Sit. Actively., Demorummet, Aarhus, Denmark (2015). Stavad also has taken part in many group shows such as de-co-lage! 8, group show, Ringsted Galleriet, Ringsted, Denmark (2018), An Echo of The Illuminated 2.0, group show curated by Eliyah Mesayer, Splab, Aarhus, Denmark (2018), TALES OF AN OCEAN, group show curated by Aukje Lepoutre Ravn, LMDM, Cartagena, Spain (2018), Show Me Nothing, Charlotte Fogh Gallery, Aarhus, Denmark (2018), Exhibition I, II, III– Bech Risvig Collection, Vestjyllands Kunstpavillon, Videbaek, DK (2018), SPECTA Surplus Store, Galleri SPECTA, Copenhagen, Denmark (2018). In 2018 Stavad received the Astrid Noack Grant of Honor and has received the Danish Art Foundation Working's Grant (2016-18). In the summer of 2019, Stavad will be taking part in a group show at Kristin Kjellegjerde Gallery, London.
