Love in the Age of Digital Capitalism: I am moving further towards incorporating my personal experience in my work, whilst still utilising the universal conduit of the human form. This was inspired by my hapless experience of internet dating and it’s alienating dichotomy between capitalism and so called ‘romantic compatibility.’ On one app ‘Hinge,’ there’s a new ‘Rose’ incentive whereby the ‘hottest’ and most likely ‘your’ type can only become aware you have liked them if you have sent them a ‘rose.’ These roses cost money, this is the painting I made.
