(still) life no. 1: This was my first finished work that is free from any heads/ skulls / faces, after two previous attempts which developed the composition: namely the severed hand and the one pulling on the table cloth. Combining still life with some semblance of human activity seemed like an appropriate compromise to begin diversifying my content for the future, as well as presenting a dialectal deconstruction of the genre: ‘life’ and ‘stillness.’
