Heidi Ukkonen (b. 1979, Bilbao, Spain) is a painter based in Antwerp, Belgium. She studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Art Antwerp, where she earned both her Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts in Painting. Ukkonen’s work often moves between intimacy and theatricality, blending personal symbolism with references to myth, ritual, and popular culture. Her paintings are expressive, vibrant, and psychologically charged, offering scenes that feel both staged and emotionally immediate.
 
Solo exhibitions include A Night In/A Day Out at Galerie LJ, Paris (2025); Pour Toujours at Galerie LJ, Paris (2023); Forever...and ever...and ever at Gallery Sofie Van De Velde, Antwerp (2023); and WONDERS with Demain Art in Brussels (2023, 2024). Other recent presentations include Aesthetic Echoes at Plus One Gallery, Antwerp (2024), and The Appearance Formula at Andrea Festa Fine Art, Rome (2022). Ukkonen has shown with institutions and galleries internationally across Europe, Asia, and North America.
