Ana Barriga was born in Jerez, Spain in 1984. He completed a Masters in Idea y Producción (Idea and Production) from the University of Seville (2014-15) and a Degree in Fine Arts from the same university (2014). Barriga’s paintings try to find a balance between reason and emotion. She uses humor, play and irony to allow unpredictable situations. Play is very important both in her work and in her way of working. She takes children's toys, decorative objects or everyday objects which she paints, breaks, mutilates, assembles as if she was playing with them. She then erases, repopulates, modifies and even intervenes with spray as if it were a vandalism towards her own painting. Selected solo shows include De Animales a Dioses, Centro Andalúz de Arte Contemporáneo, Seville, Spain (2019); Charleston, Lambada y Perreo, Galería BIRIMBAO, Seville, Spain (2018), Ni Trono Ni Reina, Galería Yusto Giner, Málaga, Spain (2017), El Hombre y la Madera, Galería BIRIMBAO.
